AirAsia Philippines has officially announced the launch of new direct routes connecting Manila with both Hanoi and Da Nang, marking a significant expansion of its Southeast Asia network in 2026.

The new routes will commence on March 20, 2026, with four weekly flights operating on each route every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Services will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of approximately 180 seats, with departures scheduled in the afternoon and evening to better accommodate travelers.

To stimulate demand, the airline has introduced promotional base fares starting from ₱888 (around $15) one-way. The booking window runs until February 1, 2026, for travel between March 20 and October 25, 2026, positioning the routes as an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers planning mid-year trips.

This expansion strengthens connectivity between Vietnam and the Philippines, two rapidly growing tourism markets in Southeast Asia. Vietnam, in particular, has seen rising interest from Filipino travelers due to its affordability, cultural attractions, and diverse destinations. Hanoi serves as a gateway to Northern Vietnam, including destinations such as Sapa, while Da Nang provides access to Central Vietnam’s key tourism hubs like Hoi An and Hue, as well as its well-developed beach resort offerings.

The move also reinforces AirAsia’s broader regional expansion strategy as it continues to compete in an increasingly active Vietnam–Philippines corridor, where carriers such as Cebu Pacific already maintain a strong presence. At the same time, it reflects ongoing recovery trends in regional travel demand and the growing preference for low-cost, direct connectivity across ASEAN.

Overall, the introduction of these routes is expected to boost bilateral tourism flows, create new opportunities for multi-destination travel, and further position both Hanoi and Da Nang as key entry points for international visitors to Vietnam.
