Designed by Peter Rousseau, the course at Van Tri Golf Club opened for play in 2007. It's completely surrounded by water so, unsurprisingly, lakes and streams. Fairways have been laid out on the south side of the Van Tri Dam so it's perhaps not surprising to learn that sideable water hazards come into play at more than half the holes on the card.

The Van Tri Golf Club in Hanoi is one of the more exclusive private members’ clubs that one would come across in Southeast Asia. Exquisite facilities, a spectacular driving range in a lake and a superbly maintained albeit challenging golf course, make this one of the best golfing attractions in Vietnam. Built over reclaimed marshy land, there are large water bodies in play on at least half the holes , which coupled with the trees and bunkers that line the fairways, make this a golf course where both planning and execution are key to a good score.

The clubhouse amenities include a main dining room serving both Vietnamese and international cuisine, well-maintained locker and changing rooms, pro shop, and private VIP rooms.
